Position Summary

Manage a team of franchise facing Demand Planners responsible for creating and maintaining an accurate demand plan. Interact with Sales, Marketing and Operations to drive inventory costs down, including product lifecycle management, and optimize service levels to customers. This individual will also collaborate with IBP and Demand Planning leaders across the globe to drive and improve standardized planning processes. This person must have strong technical skills in demand planning coupled with people leadership, strategy, communication and influence.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage a team that will assemble, analyze and adjust all data pertinent to creating the demand forecast: historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, financial budgets and inventory levels. Gather, analyze and validate data and review resulting statistical forecast models.
  • Publish the consolidated franchise demand plan on behalf of the entire APAC region in accordance with the standard global cycle.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning Leaders in the US and across the globe to drive standardized planning processes.
  • Ensure that demand plans and inventory measurements are prepared, reviewed, reported, and communicated to Senior Leaders within APAC, the relevant division and the Demand Planning Centre of Excellence. Ensure appropriate communication is provided back to division.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Marketing and new product development teams to define launch strategy and manage product life cycle implications to demand and inventory.
  • Present recommendations for product rationalization to Executive Management.
  • Ensure that visibility is provided to the supply chain on expected demand or events through the demand signaling process.
  • Review KPIs to proactively identify misalignment between sales, demand, and supply chain capacity with relevant team to address and close gaps.
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand plans by facilitating a collaborative planning process with Sales, Marketing and Finance and other key stakeholders through the standard EDR/IBP processes.
  • Achieve customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and inventory metrics for the division.
  • Must lead and participate in the development, modification and improvement of procedures, policies and processes regarding demand planning inventory management.
  • Drive implementation and use of corporate planning tools.
  • Review and oversee a wide range of processes including: short and long-term sales & demand planning and process improvements.

Qualifications - Professional Requirements Required:

  • Degree level in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain management.
  • MBA or master’s in supply chain preferred.
  • APICS accredited or professional supply chain accreditation preferred.
  • Must understand end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies.
  • Fluent English (verbal and written).

Knowledge - Background Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of business experience with a minimum of 4 years people management experience and a minimum of 5 years supply chain or marketing experience.
  • Previous experience in marketing, sales & operations management, or finance preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing by influence across multiple teams/groups across an organization.
  • Experience with leading new product introductions, process improvements, product/demand planning, and ERP systems is required.
  • Knowledge in demand management/ forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • Work experience in medical device industry is preferred.
