Senior Associate – Project Management
Opportunity to play a lead role in the Project Management team, with client relationship management responsibilities in the region as part of Beca's Northland business based in Whangarei.
Lead project delivery across the full range of the construction project lifecycle stages, working strategically with clients throughout the region and across Beca's range of technical disciplines.
Help 'make everyday better', across the region through project delivery across the education (school buildings) and related commercial sectors.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Play a local Project Management and Delivery leadership role in this Senior Associate Project Management opportunity. You will be actively working with local regional clients to shape, develop, and deliver project management and related services for key clients, specifically for buildings projects across the Te Tai Tokerau / Northland region. You will be part of the local Beca office and business, working with a tight knit team passionate about working together to make a difference across Whangarei and the surrounding Northland region.
To be successful in this role, you will be a client-focused, relationship builder with great communication skills and the ability to work with and understand different client and sector requirements. In addition, connecting across the local Whangarei team and more broadly into the vast Beca disciplines such as in our Auckland and other offices will be important. Having the experience and background in being able to engage from a provincial office location with others, advocating for local client needs, and gaining agreement on project delivery plans will be a key requirement for this role. You will have a strong team at Beca based locally and nationwide to support you in project delivery, and you will need to have demonstrated experience at working across different project types, different client sectors, and across disciplines. You will enjoy working closely with teams to share your knowledge and experience to grow and develop others.
This role will provide you with plenty of variety and scope, working across a broad range of client types and sectors. Experience delivering projects across the local government sector (such as school building and related projects) will be required for this role. Within these sectors, you will also be supporting local project delivery for large national programs and working with national clients for projects on their assets and capital work projects based in the region. As such, you will be making a real difference across the region, bringing the best of Beca's multi-discipline abilities to projects through the application of your expertise across all aspects and project lifecycle from initial inception and briefing, through design management, procurement, construction, and client handover.
In Whangarei, Beca has a multi-disciplinary team with a great team culture and a flexible working environment. You will be playing a key project delivery and leadership role as a trusted advisor and project delivery practitioner. In this team and within the local office, they have an open and collaborative team structure across all functions and levels in the business, embedded into the culture as part of 'making everyday better'. Having a demonstrated ability to work within this team and office environment will be a requirement for this role.
Mou ake | About you
To be considered for the role, you will need:
Project Management experience across both small and large scale projects, ideally from buildings or industrial markets.
Existing networks and client contacts in Whangarei and Northland that you can continue to grow, and experience in business development, bidding, proposal writing and securing new work.
Experience in leading client engagement and building relationships to understand key project requirements, leading people and applying commercial judgement.
Demonstrated experience in design management, project planning and delivery, and strategic advice.
A relevant tertiary qualification with experience aligned to providing consulting services in the project management sector.
