The Client

Our client is the primary healthcare provider for the top of the South Island. With nearly 3,000 employees, we are the largest employer in the region, providing high-quality, patient-centered care across Nelson and Marlborough. The Radiology Department offers a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service , including General Radiography, CT Scanning, Interventional/Cardiac Cath Lab, Ultrasound, and MRI.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) to join our highly skilled and supportive Radiology team. In this role, you will gain experience across different imaging techniques while contributing to a patient-focused, high-quality radiology service. Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures across various modalities.
  2. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and care throughout radiology procedures.
  3. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective imaging services.
  4. Participate in quality control measures to maintain optimal imaging standards.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation following department protocols.
  7. Work flexibly within a rotating 24/7 shift roster (Monday to Sunday).
Requirements
  1. Registered with the NZMRT Board and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
  2. Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiography with a commitment to best practices.
  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic patient care.
  4. A positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong sense of professionalism.
  5. Experience in CT and/or Interventional procedures is preferred but not essential.
  6. Eligibility to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa.
