Are you an experienced senior finance professional looking for your next challenge? If so, we have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead our enterprise investment business partnering team.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Partners, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and overseeing the financial strategy and insights for our enterprise investment initiatives. With a team of 3-5 direct reports, you’ll be responsible for driving transformation, implementing best practices and ensuring financial discipline across a wide range of investment activities.

This is a unique opportunity to build and shape the enterprise investment business partnering framework from the ground up. Once established, either hand off to someone to run, or convert to a permanent role to embed and run the function.

This is a chance to work closely with senior leaders and influence Westpac NZ’s financial strategy at a critical time of transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct and oversee all enterprise investment change spend and financial impacts
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders including the GM, Transformation and Customer Operations, Head of Transformation and Delivery, Portfolio Directors, CFO, Group Performance Management team and Financial Control.
  • Advise and support the GM, CFO and Head of Commercial Partners
  • Advise and support the relevant leadership team to develop and deliver strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Drive the execution of key strategic and financial initiatives.
  • Lift process structure, insights and discipline around financial management for enterprise investments.
  • Support the CFO, Head of Commercial Partners through the provision of timely, accurate and insightful information and advice.
  • Leadership of Finance Business Partners, direct reports and influence across Finance.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Extensive experience finance partnering at the strategic and General Manager level.
  • Experience driving transformation, building processes and implementing financial disciplines in large complex organisations.
  • Experience in technology/software related projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the banking industry and its products, including management change spend and influencing drivers of the core business.
  • Proven ability to partner and influence leadership teams towards strategic and financial goals.
  • Confident and simple delivery of strategic and financial information to all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills appropriately applied across all modes, methods, and channels.
  • Proven leadership of high performing teams with the ability to influence and develop people
  • Strong accounting and finance ability across all finance functions.
  • Fully qualified accountant (CAANZ, CFA or equivalent)
  • At least 7 years post CA qualified experience
