Regional Manager - Infrastructure Delivery * Location: Waikato and Bay of Plenty region * Ensure effective governance and delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring lasting outcomes for New Zealand communities and the transport system. * Provide regional leadership and integration of regional initiatives and national objectives, working closely with key stakeholders and the infrastructure sector.The new ******** National Land Transport Programme confirms a significant investment in the transport system for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) to deliver. This includes the Roads of National Significance (RoNS) projects, some of New Zealand's most essential state highway corridors that require significant investment and development. In addition to our existing infrastructure projects, this brings exciting opportunities for major programmes of work within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region, with the level of capital investment in the region circa $5-6 billion. Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity' As the Regional Manager for Waikato and Bay of Plenty, you will play a pivotal role within the Regional Portfolio Governance Group in enabling the successful planning, building, maintaining, and operation of the land transport system. With a multi-billion-dollar portfolio for the region, you'll ensure that regional delivery aligns with national plans, while supporting local aspirations. As a project sponsor and governor for your region, you will work closely with other Regional Managers, project teams, and supply chains to enhance our performance, presence, and reputation. Key Responsibilities: * Partner with System Design and Maintenance & Operations Regional Managers to deliver NZTA -led projects with precision. * Champion the region's unique story by bringing local priorities, challenges, and ambitions to the national stage. * Build and lead an empowered regional leadership team, fostering an environment of collaboration and integration. * Cultivate meaningful relationships with Treaty partners, councils, communities, and key stakeholders to ensure project success. * Oversee the regional procurement of contractors, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and quality-driven project delivery. * Build and lead relationships with key contractors and suppliers in the region ensuring two-way feedback is promoted and effectively enabled. * Act as the sponsor and governor for major projects, ensuring scope, time, quality, and fiscal contractual and outcomes management. * Drive strategic alignment between regional initiatives and national objectives, ensuring land-use and broader outcomes are integrated into transport projects. Ko koe tenei | About you: The successful candidate for this role will need to have extensive governance experience of large infrastructure delivery projects. To be considered for this position, you will bring a minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years governance experience on large and complex project delivery. In addition, you will bring: * Proven leadership experience in managing large, multi-disciplinary teams at a senior level. * Exceptional ability to communicate complex issues in a compelling, clear, and influential way. * Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to unite diverse stakeholders and foster long-term collaboration. * A deep understanding of New Zealand's land transport and resource sectors. * A proactive, decisive approach, able to navigate challenges and maintain alignment with organisational and government priorities. * You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
