You'll also have the opportunity to lend your expertise to Lion’s Group General Counsel, offering valuable assistance on group-wide initiatives and addressing legal and strategic issues as they arise in Australia & New Zealand.The key accountability for the role includes:Legal Counsel - GroupLead on legal advice and contract support for Lion’s Group procurement functions, across both Australia and New Zealand.Provide guidance and support on Group legal matters.Collaborate with Lion’s General Counsel New Zealand and/or Group General Counsel on high-value strategic projects and legal issues.Enhance internal capabilities by delivering updates and trainings to procurement and other Group/Supply Chain teams.Cultivate strong business partnerships and enhance connectivity with suppliers and partners through relationship-building efforts.ORLegal Counsel – NZDay-to-day legal contract/advice support for sales, operations and marketing teams e.g. supply agreements, sponsorship agreements and on-premise contracts.Support all of Lion NZ’s leading beer, spirits and wine brands on blockbuster marketing campaigns – reviewing and providing feedback on advertising, media and social content for Speight’s, Steinlager, Panhead, Smirnoff, Lindauer and many others.Managing all trade promotions and reviewing and approving packaging materials.Manage Lion’s NZ trade mark portfolio and associated intellectual property matters.Build internal capability through provision of updates and trainings to marketing and sales teams, including in regards to competition and regulatory matters.Provide support to General Counsel - NZ on major projects (e.g M&A, litigation).Partnering with, and management of, selected external legal advisors including legal budgets.Focus on developing both internal and external relationships to drive strong business partnering and supplier/partner connectivity.What you’ll bring:Energy with a desire to challenge norms and drive change.Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside strong interpersonal abilities.Proficient in drafting and negotiation, with outstanding organizational and time management capabilities.Solid commercial acumen and the confidence to make critical business decisions consistently.Holds formal tertiary legal qualifications, with a current practicing certificate, and demonstrates a strong understanding of commercial and contractual legal issues, as well as governance and compliance processes and risks.
