Are you an accomplished accounting professional with leadership experience and a passion for business advisory services?

We are seeking an experienced BAS Director to join a high-performing and well-regarded firm in Queenstown.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where you will shape the future of the firm and help drive the success of a diverse portfolio of clients.

The Role:

As the BAS Director, you will lead the Business Advisory Services division, providing strategic guidance to clients and overseeing the delivery of top-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. You will work closely with clients, offering innovative solutions to help them achieve their business goals. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing a team of accountants, ensuring a high standard of client service and contributing to the growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the BAS team, ensuring the successful delivery of accounting, tax, and advisory services
  • Provide strategic advice to a diverse range of clients across various industries
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted business advisor
  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for clients
  • Identify opportunities for business development and growth within the firm
  • Mentor and develop junior and senior team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Stay current with industry trends, tax regulations, and accounting standards
Requirements:
  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
  • 6+ years of experience in public practice, with a strong focus on BAS and advisory services
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a professional services environment
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand tax and accounting standards
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify opportunities for growth
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and MYOB
