Community Mental Health Nurse – Child & Adolescent Permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.
About the Role
Right now, we are seeking a registered nurse to join our team in a new role. This position is based within our neurodevelopmental clinic, which manages the referrals into Te Roopu Kimiora - Child and Adolescent Mental Health & Addiction Service, for assessment of ADHD, Autism and Intellectual Disability. The role will have a main focus on screening, assessment, follow up and psychoeducation of ADHD, but you may also be required to provide assessment and case management within other areas of the neurodevelopmental clinic and the wider CAMHS team.
About the Service
Te Roopu Kimiora is a secondary care specialist mental health and addiction service seeing young people/rangatahi 0-18 years old who have moderate to severe mental health concerns. We work closely alongside the young person and their whanau to achieve goals that are set collaboratively so they can live to their fullest potential.
Te Roopu Kimiora is a vibrant and hardworking team, made up of many disciplines such as social workers, counsellors, nurses, psychologists and psychiatrists.
About you
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
A qualified registered nurse with an Annual Practising Certificate.
Experienced with working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Able to display a working knowledge and have experience of professional practice in the area of Mental Health/Psychiatry, or similar, ideally working with children and youth.
