We are partnering with some of the world’s biggest QSR brands to deliver innovative solutions that transform how they do business. To help us deliver on our vision, we are looking for an innovative Tech Lead to join our Eyecue team in Auckland.

About the role

Eyecue is Fingermark’s advanced AI-driven computer vision platform. It provides real-time insights to help QSRs improve speed, efficiency, and customer experience by leveraging AI and machine learning for live analytics and performance monitoring.

As the Tech Lead in the Eyecue team, you’ll be responsible for the health and scale of the entire platform. This is a significant role requiring high autonomy and decision-making as you lead a team of software engineers through the design, documentation, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions.

You’ll work with technologies like React.js, Node.js, AWS, GCP, and SQL/NoSQL, taking ownership of the software development lifecycle and ensuring key phases and milestones are met. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to define technical strategies, capacity planning, and best practices.

Your role will include project planning, code reviews, and maintaining a strong quality mindset by identifying and addressing bugs early. You’ll also facilitate scrum ceremonies (daily standups, planning, retros, demos), support solutions architecture decisions, and manage the L3 on-call support and queue management processes.

As a mentor and coach, you’ll develop an environment of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, helping your team grow and succeed.

This is a hybrid role based in Auckland, offering a mix of office and remote work.

About you

  • 5-6+ years working as a Senior Software Engineer
  • Experience in a similar role would be advantageous
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, security and best practices
  • Strong leadership and organisational abilities
  • Expert proficiency in React.js and Node.js environments
  • Strong technical excellence in AWS, GCP, and Linux OS
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Willingness to build and nurture professional relationships with staff and clients.
