Bournemouth Airport is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering services and drive innovation in a dynamic airport environment. If you have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Engineering Services: Oversee a safe, compliant, and efficient range of engineering and project services, ensuring optimal resource management and a culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets to align with business needs, keeping plans updated to reflect changing demands.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Monitor airport infrastructure and facilities, identifying future requirements and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Team Development: Effectively coach and train team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Environmental Leadership: Lead the Airport’s Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with the requirements of ISO 14001 and coordinate initiatives to reduce carbon emissions in line with the Net Zero 2040 policy.
  • Promote Best Practices: Maintain technical archives, ensure health and safety standards, and champion innovation across teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the airport in various committees and positively engage with key stakeholders.
  • Emergency Response: Support the implementation of emergency plans and conduct necessary investigations during incidents.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in engineering management, preferably in the aviation sector.
  • Strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
  • Successful track record of managing complex projects within budget and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
