**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven Quality Assurance Chemist to join our team at our Mount Manganui site. Reporting to the Site Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Your contributions will directly support production needs, meet customer requirements, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
As a QA/QC Chemist, you will work collaboratively with multiple departments to address quality issues and maintain high standards. Your primary responsibilities will include:
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements and statutory obligations.
- Support plant operations to meet testing needs and ensure product quality.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and assist the production team in meeting targets.
- Update and maintain standard operating procedures and testing protocols.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the site’s industrial hygiene program.
- Monitor emissions for compliance with environmental standards.
- Conduct testing on resins, intermediates, and raw materials.
- Maintain, calibrate, and manage site QC equipment.
- Support ISO-9001 certification and registration activities.
- Manage laboratory supplies and purchasing processes.
- Oversee the rework of non-conforming materials.
- Statistically analyze process results and production trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate and address product quality or output variability issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in batch and tank first pass rates.
- Lead internal QMS audits and contribute to the preparation of relevant documentation and procedures.
**About You**:
- A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related Science discipline.
- Significant experience in quality assurance/control, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of general test procedures, lab terminology, and chemical safety in both laboratory and production environments.
- Familiarity with EHS standards and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
