Our Tauranga and Hamilton team is currently seeking for an experienced Traffic Safety Engineer to become an integral member of our NorthernTransport Business Group.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Assist with, Transport & Civil projects including the following:
- Client Liaison - Develop good business relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard
- Project Management - Proven project management, investigation, design and implementation of a range of projects involving transport, civil and multidisciplinary projects
- Mentoring and Coaching - Provide guidance to junior design engineers on projects and be able to train and mentor them
- Technical Leadership - Provide technical input and leadership to projects - Including review QA/QC of project deliverables as either JM as appropriate
- Knowledge - Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff and contribute to GHD Global Knowledge Base
- Quality Assurance - Preparation of high quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables
- Inter office support - Develop new and repeat business from other GHD locations
**Technical**:
- Undertake transportation / civil projects potentially including elements of business cases, investigation, design, reporting, cost estimates, design and contract documentation and contract surveillance
- Take a role of representing GHD to Clients and Contractors
- Ensure client expectations for time, quality, cost, safety and environmental measures are fulfilled
- Liaison with authorities, public, interest groups, affected parties etc.
**What you will bring to the team**:
- NZCE/BE (Civil) or similar
- Tertiary qualified with minimum 5 years’ experience in transportation / civil related projects
- Ability to liaise and manage client relationships effectively and successfully
- Project management expertise
- Client problem solving focus
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge and understanding of industry design standards and guidelines
- Ability to contribute to the growth of GHD’s business
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Initiative and the ability to work with minimum supervision
