Live Life Disability Support provide support to over 250 people, who have disabilities, to achieve their personal aspirations and choices in a variety of residential and respite settings across the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions. We are a community-based disability support service focused on quality-of-life outcomes and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.

We support each person to manage their day to day lives in ways and at times that work for them. This could involve anything from assisting with personal cares, to behaviour support and living the life in the community.

The people we support have a wide range of abilities and we focus on enabling good lives by being inclusive and actively encouraging family and whānau input.

**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**

We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to join an existing team in our small respite home in Nelson. You will work closely with whānau, local community, and professional agencies to provide short, medium, or emergency respite for children with physical, cognitive, and high medical needs.

This is a great opportunity to harness your empathetic and energetic support style by organising and participating in activities, or school holiday programs, which inspire and create great memories.

You will always role model best practice, whilst ensuring your team brings enjoyment, engagement and purposeful youth-centered care both within and outside our home-away-from-home.

You will be involved with ongoing service development, such as planning, rostering and reporting.

You will be an integral part of the team, providing support and pro-active leadership. Our mahi is dynamic, demanding and rewarding.

Your role is on-roster, working with flexibility over 7 days, including evening and weekends. You will have every second weekend off. Our goal is to center the needs of the child and their whānau, requiring lots of communication, self-awareness, and flexibility.

We are non-judgmental, reflective, and trauma informed always, and we embed the Enabling Good Lives principles into the important mahi that we do.

**Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)**

You will have inspiring leadership skills and a strong commitment to the principles of person-centred support. You will also hold a minimum NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), or an equivalent health or disability related qualification as assessed by the Ministry of Health _(see link below)_ and will have a sound knowledge of Person-Centred support as well as good time management skills. Experience working in the field of disability, youth social services would be advantageous.

This role is classified by Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for this position must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
