**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

As an Oranga Coordinator you will be working closely with Māori patients and whānau to provide support and guidance when presenting to the hospital and through the duration of their inpatient admission. You will work in active partnership with colleagues to identify any barriers to provision of excellent assessment and treatment, ensuring delivery of care incorporates a cultural lens during inpatients admission and through the discharge process.

These positions play a key role in ensuring Māori patients and whānau at Auckland City Hospital have the best possible inpatient and whānau experience. You will provide support and guidance to whānau, to help them develop their own coping mechanisms and strengthen their ability to support the patient in the post-discharge period. This is a vital role within the wider Māori Health Provider Services team and are essential in bettering outcomes for Māori. For further details, please refer to the position description **here**.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

As an Oranga Coordinator you will have commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and have experience in community-based environments or cultural groups such as in marae settings, working in Māori health or social service providers. You’ll have the ability to whakawhanaunga to form authentic, strong, meaningful connections with other people and advocate for others in a mana engaged way.
