We have two permanent positions available within our surgical ward which has a strong Orthopaedic, Gynaecology and Otolaryngology focus in an acute and elective environment. We have full-time or part-time positions available, please include what you can do in your cover letter. Shifts are available Monday - Sunday.

We practice in a collaborative patient partnership model of care to achieve best outcomes for our patients/families and whānau. As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed.
- The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $51,770 to $61,540 based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, (Pay Equity adjusted) dependent on skills, experience & relevant qualifications._

We are looking for people with a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people and excellent communication skills. They will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative.

Experience within the health sector is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

**Qualifications**
- Essential_
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*
- Desirable_
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
- Mandatory requirement_
- NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, _if not previously obtained_, _is_ _to be commenced once orientations have been attended._
- Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public_._
- Applicants should be NZ or Australian citizens, or a NZ permanent resident, or have a valid visa to be considered._
