**MASH Trust support people in their own homes, within MASH home and in the community. We operate throughout the lower North Island, in Wellington, Kapiti, Horowhenua, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay regions.**

**With over 550 staff and volunteers, we work alongside the people we support to enable them to live fulfilling lives.**

**_The Child Youth Crisis Respite service provides respite for people aged between 5 and 19 years who are experiencing mental health and/or addiction issues. We offer a short-term, voluntary residential programme with a maximum 7 day stay. This service provides a short-term safe and secure home environment for the youth that we support._**

**The Role**:
As a Youth Worker you will assist young people to make positive and long lasting changes in their lives, which will be achieved through various means of support. You will help provide a safe and secure environment which allows them to gather information to ensure they can make informed choices, while assisting and encouraging them to participate in leisure activities and recreational pursuits. This position involves meal preparation and housekeeping duties.

**The Position**:This is a Wakeover position, working 80 hours per fortnight
**Week 1 and 2 -**Monday - Friday, 11pm through until 7am the following day

**You will have/be**:

- A willingness to work towards a National Certificate in Mental Health or Human Services which is funded by us.
- Relevant experience working with youth is essential. Our Youth Workers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences, but the most important skills are empathy and a desire to work with young people.
- Hold a current full drivers licence and have reliable transport
- The ability to take pride in a healthy home environment including cleaning, meal preparation and shopping.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Caring and kind in nature with integrity that can provide support to those from all walks of life.
