**Job Title: Youth Helpline Clinical Practitioner**

**What Awaits You in This Role**:

- Mentor and guide Helpline volunteers while providing peer support to colleagues.
- Make timely, critical clinical assessments, ensuring professional boundaries are upheld.
- Champion a strengths-based, person-centered approach.
- Facilitate effective communication with support agencies.
- Participate in continuous training and development.
- Occasionally, be available for weekend and evening trainings/orientations.

**Do You Possess the Following Qualities?**
- **A qualified Mental Health Professional, holding current certification as**:

- **Fully registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 (e.g., nurse, psychologist, psychotherapist, occupational therapist).**:

- **A fully registered alcohol and drug and/or gambling practitioner member of the Addiction Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa-New Zealand (DAPAANZ).**:

- **A fully registered social worker.**:

- **A counsellor fully registered with NZAC.**
- Demonstrated experience in the field of mental health.
- Proficiency in identifying and assessing risk (including suicide, care and protection, self-harm), crafting safety plans, and executing interventions while making effective, time-sensitive clinical decisions and reviewing incident reports.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to swiftly establish rapport with clients and their families/whānau.
- Empathetic, non-judgmental demeanor.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- A deep passion and knowledge base in supporting young people.
- Dedication to providing culturally competent service and engaging in bi-cultural work.
- **You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand currently**
