Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We currently require a Public Health Registrar. The Hamilton based position manages patients and problems within the public health service, commensurate with and appropriate to their skill level largely Monday to Friday 0830-1700hrs (five days per week and excluding public holidays).

As part of the public health unit, the team promote and protect public health and assist the PHMSs / MOsH in carrying out statutory functions and providing medical expertise in public health issues.

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

- Registered Medical Practitioner (recognised by the New Zealand Medical Council - MCNZ), preferably from a New Zealand medical school
- A current practising certificate with one of the following Scopes of Practice: Provisional General/General or Special Purpose
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate
- Participation in a recognised training programme
- Previous work within the New Zealand health system
- Completed MPH and part of College training programme
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
