**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Photographer (Trainee) to work alongside our Senior Medical Photographer and undertake clinically related photography for different services of our Hospitals (medical, surgical, Emergency Department, Laboratory and Theatres among others). As our next team member, you will be offered on the job training and support to develop your skills in Medical Photography. Your competencies will be developed alongside our Senior Medical Photographer through a close collaboration with our Medical / Surgical /Nursing Team by providing Clinical Photography as part of documentation in patient records.

Some of your duties will also include:

- Attending requests for Clinical Photography from Medical / Nursing Teams
- Providing support for teaching, research and publication purposes on location when resources permit.
- Be responsible for the clinical photograph service referral, quality, and storage database systems.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**

The medical photography service sits as a clinical support function within the Hospital Flow Directorate. The service is to provide clinical photographs for various departments throughout the District for clinical assessment, patient records, teaching, research and publication purposes.

**Moū - About you**

Our next team player will be creative, self-initiative and have the ability to work in Acute Clinical areas involving interaction with patients and Healthcare Professionals both independently and as part of a team.

A basic Photography qualification is essential for this role.

You also will have:

- High organisational skills to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to cope in clinical areas such as Emergency Department, Operation Theatres and Wards
- Some ability in graphic design and web based packages such as Adobe Creative Suite and must be familiar with Macintosh platforms
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proven customer service and quality focus
- Enthusiasm for excellence
