**He kōrero mōu | About you**
We are looking for individuals who listen with empathy and are committed to being the connector between families and other community services.
While prior experience in a Health Promotion setting or related qualification would be advantageous, a passion for working with tamariki and their caregivers is key. It is vital that you're confident in working independently but also understanding how to work within a team environment. We will provide you with the training and support to learn the rest.
Prior experience in working in partnership with vulnerable families from a variety of backgrounds in a supportive and caring manner will be advantageous. In supporting our pro-equity journey, its vital you have an understanding and commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, or are able to demonstrate an understanding of what it looks like to support whānau to thrive.
In addition, you will:
- Hold New Zealand residency or citizenship
- Be committed to completing the National Certificate in Tamariki Ora - Well Child Services programme (funded)
- Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
We expect and encourage all Plunket people to live our values; kia māia - to be courageous, kia Māhaki - to be humble, kia manaaki - to care and kia tūhono - to stand in relationship.
**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou | What we offer**
If you’re seeking to work for an organisation that values improving society, join us at Whānau Āwhina Plunket. In line with our values, we believe in caring for our people, to support your wellbeing and ongoing professional growth.
- Work close to home in a community-based role
- A predominantly Monday - Friday role, with some flexibility to work around you
- 'Well Health Day': the ability to use sick leave for a proactive planned health day
- Free car parking at all our hubs.
- A generous parental leave scheme to support growing whānau
**Tō tātou rōpu | About our team**
You would be working alongside a larger team of 15 Plunket Nurses, 2 Lactation Consultants, 2 Health Workers, 4 Kaiāwhina, and a local Clinical Manager Team of 3, who work together to engage with whānau across Hawkes Bay. This vibrant team delivers Well Child services from Tutira to Central Hawkes Bay.
**Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply**
Applications close: 28/11/22
**Kotahi mano ngā rā hiki te oranga mo ngā whakatipuranga, i roto i ngā hapori**
In the first 1000 days setting the path of wellness in our communities, for generations to come
Whānau Āwhina Plunket is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family. We have committed to adopting a pro-equity approach where we give life to the Treaty principles of tino rangatiratanga, partnership, active protection, equity and options in our mahi/work to ensure healthy tamariki, confident whānau and connected communities.
