**Mechanical Engineering Technician (Survey)**:

**About the role**

Reporting to the Survey Team Leader, The Mechanical Engineering Technician (Survey) will conduct surveys, tests, and inspections to assess system compliance, integrity, and performance. They examine ship structures, coatings, materials, and components to maintain accurate records and identify potential issues. This role is part of a skilled Inspection team with opportunities for career development in diverse work environments.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
**Conduct Testing and Analysis**: Perform or assist in standard quantitative and qualitative non-destructive testing and analysis to verify process conditions, including periodic testing of structures and coatings, condition surveys, and testing for corrosion and defects. Produce detailed survey reports with recommendations.

**Quality Control**: Carry out Non-Destructive Testing as part of a quality control and verification program, including thickness measurement, weld testing, pressure testing, dye penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing.

**Client Communication**: Liaise with clients, providing clear and concise results and information as required.

**Report Generation**: Evaluate results and produce clear reports that detail the inspection findings within the parameters of applicable specifications and procedures.
