**What will you be doing?**

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, you will play an integral part in this journey, working closely with teams across the organisation, building relationships and working with key stakeholders to ensure the changes are aligned with Tower's customer-centred assurance and risk strategy.

As part of your role, you'll have your finger on the pulse and be adept at influencing and engaging the business in well-informed decision-making.

You can expect to be across the following:

- Maintaining an internal audit framework, including contributing to audit strategy, methodology and annual plan. You will lead and support the Internal Audit Team to complete assessments and audits in New Zealand and the Pacific.
- With the mandate to support Tower's strategic objectives including, driving beautiful customer experiences through operational and underwriting excellence, you will assist with planning, development, management and control of assurance activities to meet all annual plans and scope of assurance areas.
- Assist with reporting to Tower Senior Management and the Tower Audit Committee; including the provision of general management assurance, audit reports and summary reporting.
- Advising on all organisational systems which may give rise to error, fraudulent activity or inefficiencies, leading to improvements, recommendations for change to financial methods and digital audit techniques using computer-based methods.
- Lead by example and play an influential role in the lives of your team members by fostering trust and a sense of accountability.
- Ensure all team members meet and adhere to Tower's compliance and regulatory obligations

**What you'll need**

You'll be passionate about the role of the general insurance industry in our community, and you will have the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You'll be a strategic advisor to the entire leadership group and a key member of the broader Internal Audit team.

**To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:

- Minimum of 5 + years Internal Audit background, comprehensive understanding objectives and outputs of an IA function and managing an IA team.
- Financial services experience, particularly non-life insurance is desirable.
- Appropriate industry qualification (CA/CPA/CIA) preferred.
- Loads of curiosity, you're known for asking why, you read and have an awesome network of diverse thinkers and doers that spark creativity and innovation to help us unlock a new insurance future.
- A drive to influence key strategic decisions and get things done with experience of organisational change initiatives and the decision making and engagement activities required to enable these.
- Good knowledge of organisations operating activities, financial systems, controls and data-based audit techniques, and information technology expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication, including analytical ability and report writing skills.
