We have a rare opportunity for a Manager - Technical Lighting & Staging, to join our high performing team.

This role’s purpose is to ensure sure we meet and exceed our service standards by flawlessly managing all aspects of Lighting and Staging operations. It's all about creating a stellar experience for our audience

- To Develop and ensure ongoing management of systems, policies and procedures within the Lighting and Staging department
- Ensuring we are compliant within the department to meet Health and Safety requirements
- Implementing the Technical Production department business plan pertaining to Lighting and Staging
- Work with the General Manager Technical Production to recruit staff in line with policies and procedures
- Contributing to managing relationships with other parts of Auckland Live and the wider Tātaki Auckland Unlimited organisation
- Developing team objectives in line with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited business plan
- Contributing to developing the capability of staff through mentoring, coaching and identifying training and development needs to improve performance
- Effectively manage, or escalate, controversial issues, where there may be numerous stakeholders and perspectives
- This role is deemed safety sensitive so as part of our pre-employment checks for this position, a drug and alcohol check would be conducted._

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

Our ideal applicant ideally comes equipped with the following:

- Minimum Diploma in Arts/Diploma L5-6 relating to lighting and staging or equivalent experience (IE ETNZ Level 6) (preferred)
- Full NZ Drivers Licence & Riggers Certificate
- 10+ years in professional theatrical or corporate Lighting and Staging systems and set ups (desirable)
- 5+ years working as practitioner in theatre related technical disciplines i.e. lighting, sound, audio visual, staging (desirable)
- A record of excellent event delivery and strong workforce planning management skills
- Proven management and leadership abilities to manage diverse staff with different skills and working preferences across multiple event types and venues
- An excellent communicator that is proactive, helpful and accommodating in nature
- Good computer skills in event related software for Lighting and Staging and related event work, MS Office Suite, and CAD, rostering and asset management.
- Lighting Systems knowledge (Lighting consoles and associated systems, networking, and control systems) and staging systems knowledge (Rigging, trussing, motors etc.)
- The ability to plan maintenance of Lighting and Staging equipment and systems.
