**Mō Tātou - About Us**
Situated in the sunny eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island, the Bay of Plenty really is just that, offering vast golden sand beaches, bush clad mountains, lush farmlands and more. Its pleasant climate means that the area has become a favourite for holiday makers, retirees and those looking for a different lifestyle outside of the main cities.
Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. It is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
**Ngā uarātanga ō ā mātou mahi - Our Values**
At the Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty we recruit for our Manaakitanga CARE values. Why do we do this? Because values-based teams deliver better care.
Our manaakitanga CARE values (Compassion, All-one-team, Responsive and Excellence) support each of us to make a difference every day in the things we do and say. Therefore, it's important that when recruiting, we recruit new colleagues who live by our CARE values.
**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**
We have an exciting opportunity at Tauranga hospital for an Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team working in the Health in Ageing service in the Western Bay of Plenty - utilizing inpatient rehabilitation and community neuro enablement approaches.
You will work alongside the Clinical Lead OT and team leader to ensure excellent service delivery, development of this service and the staff working in this area whilst having the opportunity to grow your toolkit of transdisciplinary knowledge as you journey in your career.
This is a full-time position for an intermediate to experienced practitioner to work in with other Allied Health staff across these service areas and transition patients home as part of the wider acute hospital flow.
This role is varied and offers the opportunity to improve the wellbeing of patients rehabilitating through previous and new health conditions including but not limited to traumatic brain injury, fractures, amputations, stroke, and general frailty conditions.
Previous experience working within an allied health setting is preferred. You must be comfortable with working within an ‘all-one-team' model in allied health, working together with other leaders and staff to integrate services and orientate delivery around wellbeing. You will find a supportive and dynamic coaching environment with Manaakitanga and a focus on service equity at the heart.
