We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Hoki ki te Kāinga team, which translates as “Returning Home”. We are an interdisciplinary early supported discharge team working in the community to support people in their transition home from hospital. You would mainly be working with older adults who are recovering from an illness, injury or surgery. Experience supporting patients and whānau through delirium would be an advantage.

You will bring your experience of working within the rehabilitation, orthopaedic, geriatric or community settings; and your exceptional interpersonal skills. You will be passionate about improving health outcomes for our clients, and making a real difference to the people you work with.

If successful, you would complete goal setting in collaboration with the person and their whānau, and identify goals that are meaningful to them. You would develop individualised rehabilitation plans to increase their independence in activities of daily living, with the aim of making every moment a possible rehab opportunity. This role also includes the coaching and supervision of Rehabilitation Assistants.

This role includes excellent pay rates including penal rates for weekends and statutory holidays worked, as well as extra leave allowance for shift work and statutory holidays worked.
