Support our tauira (students) with mental health, wellbeing and addictions challenges and play an important role not only to Te Whare Wananga o Waikato but to the wider community.

You will provide clinical and administrative tasks to support tauira who have mental health, well-being, and addiction challenges that are impacting on health and wellbeing. You will work within Student Health: Hauora Akonga at our Hamilton campus as part of a friendly and skilled multi-disciplinary team. In addition, you will have an active interest in the health needs of tauira and their mental health and wellbeing.

- NCEA Level 2 qualification or above
- Current First Aid certificate is preferred
- Experience working in the health sector
- A commitment to culturally safe, recovery focussed and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (proven ability to build connections with people and relate to a wonderfully diverse student community)

Student Health: Hauora Akonga, provides holistic, high quality, responsive, and cost-effective services to students from modern premises on both the Hamilton and Tauranga Campuses. Our purpose is to enhance student health and well-being for success at the University of Waikato and beyond.

You will be part of an integrated health team including Registered Nurses for Mental Health and Well-being, Counsellors, Social Worker, Health Promotion and Violence Prevention Coordinators, General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Chaplaincy and Administrators.

As a member of the Student Health Hauora Akonga interdisciplinary team, you will find this is a rewarding role, which can positively contribute to the personal development and well-being of students engaging with the Counselling team.
