As part of our organisation wide transformation, our Financial Stability Group are growing, not only in size, but in maturity. As a result of expanding and specialising our practices to support our growing mandate, our Risk Specialist team has been created, and we are looking for a strong leader to help build out this function. Te tūranga - The roles Reporting directly to the Director of Specialist Supervision & Support, as the Risk Specialist Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead a team that supports high quality supervision of relevant regulated entities in specialist areas, supporting Te Pūtea Matua's stated aim of more intensive supervision. The Risk Specialist team is being developed to further enhance our ability to effectively regulate and monitor entities, through the provision of specialist expertise and advice. The team will comprise experts or specialists in a range of areas, working closely with colleagues across the department and the wider Financial Stability Group - particularly those involved in developing policy (Prudential Policy department) and those undertaking front-line supervision (Prudential Supervision department). The key focus areas for the team will include operational risk/resilience (including technology risk and cyber resilience) of regulated entities, actuarial advice and climate change. This is a key position within the Financial Stability Group and is a role where you can truly leave your mark. You will be joining the department at a time of evolution and growth. Coming on board at the very start of the journey, you will have input into the strategic direction of the team and will work with the Director of Specialist Supervision & Support to plan the path ahead. - Strong relationship management skills and experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to tailor and deliver information for different audiences, and be confident in presenting your work to stakeholders.
- A collaborative way of working, along with experience guiding, mentoring and coaching other colleagues with varying levels of professional experience.
