We are looking for an experienced Registered Social Worker to join our team at Nelson Community Allied Health team on a permanent full-time basis working (0.4FTE) 32 hours a fortnight. This role has a community focus and is based in the community; where bio-psychosocial assessments are required, interventions offered to support complex challenges. You will provide the social work support as part of a team of allied health professionals and work closely with the Oncology team.

You will be registered with the NZ Social Workers Registration Board, and work in a collaborative way, delivering client-centred practice from a strengths perspective. You will ideally have experience working in a community health setting and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and bring an understanding of the social determinants of health, and the impact on health and social needs.

Have knowledge/experience of physical health and disability and supports available in the community.

To be successful you will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and lots of energy. Be innovative, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible and creative with a positive approach to all situations including problem solving. Your ability to think on your feet and be experienced at working under pressure with a solution focused approach will be fortuitous. Additionally, you will be someone with a good understanding of bi-cultural social work practice.
