We have a great opportunity for a Senior Education Advisor, Early Learning - Pacific to join our Henderson office. You will be work as part of a multi-disciplinary team developing and implementing initiatives that support the Auckland Early Learning Services Pacific Education work programme to lift student and family participation, engagement, and achievement.

As the Senior Education Advisor, Early Learning - Pacific you will work with early learning services across the region to support leadership, management, and governance practices in Pacific early learning centres to best meet the needs of Pacific young children their families and communities.

You will support the implementation of services, projects, and initiatives, and develop and implement projects to increase early childhood education participation by children from the Pacific population in areas where participation is low.

A connector of people, you will thrive building professional relationships and working collaboratively with Pacific groups and communities to achieve a shared goal of quality provision of early learning services and increased participation of young Pacific children.

About you | Mōhou ake

**Among the skills you will bring are**:

- Knowledge and experience of Early Childhood services, the Early Childhood curriculum, regulations and/or pedagogies.
- Experience in engagement with Pacific groups and community providers.
- A demonstrated deep understanding of the aspirations, interests and needs of young Pacific children, families, and communities.
- Evidenced bi-cultural practice and a working knowledge of Te Tiriti.
- An understanding of project planning and implementation including project design and planning, clear target setting and monitoring, prioritisation, and evaluation.
- The ability to contribute to Pacific Success across the Auckland region.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
Te Mahau takiwā collectively provides leadership and integrated services to the education sector. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services. As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level through the Directors of Education, including deep relationships with iwi and hapū. Our frontline groups are represented at the leadership level of decision making for Te Tāhuhu. The frontline hautū | deputy secretaries hold at least one National Portfolio to complement their frontline role.

In Te Tai Raro, our hautū holds the National Portfolio for Pacific Education. This portfolio requires many parts of our organisation to work together to enhance collective impact for Pacific learner success, embedding the shifts in the Action Plan for Pacific Education.
