The Operations Manager - Hamilton is accountable for the performance of laboratory operations at our Duke St facility, ensuring performance meets customer quality and turnaround time expectations.

Leading a group of operations Section Managers, the Operations Manager ensures the coordination of resources across multiple sections to optimise performance, productivity, and resource utilisation. The role also involves maintaining a high-level understanding of operational processes, driving operational excellence to minimise waste, and leading initiatives for environmental impact reduction and zero harm outcomes.

A key focus of this position is to create a great working environment for the members of the wider team, while ensuring that all expected operational, quality, safety and financial outcomes are delivered.

Reporting to the GM - Operations, this role will lead a team of 9 direct reports (Section Managers) and oversee a workforce of approximately 250 indirect reports (Team Leaders and operational staff).

**About You**
- A tertiary science qualification at degree level is essential. A post-graduate qualification in business management/administration is desirable.
- At least 10-15 years relevant experience, including P&L accountability
- Senior operational leadership experience of commercial laboratories or a related high-throughput operational environment
- Recognised as a leader with strong business and commercial acumen, and excellent judgement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, builds strong partnerships with internal stakeholders
- Drive and energy to achieve

As a strong leader who can comfortably dive into detail and maintain a big picture focus, you will promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement. A key focus will be achieving optimum performance against KPIs.
