Let's start with the "life" part of the equation. In your new role as our Asset and Planning Manager with Eastland Network, you will be living in the beautiful Tairāwhiti region, renowned for sunshine and surfing.

You'll be based in modern open-plan offices near the centre of Gisborne. Each day you can enjoy barista-style coffee and free fruit, and pick fresh salads from our on-site garden. At lunchtime, jump on one of our electric bikes and head down to the beach for a swim, or to the nearby gym to make the most of your subsidised membership. Once you've been with us for a few months, you can take advantage of our flexible working hours - and enjoy more time to explore this unique part of New Zealand.

**Now for the work side of things.**

If you have an excellent grasp of the electricity industry, this is a senior position within the Network team and is set to lead the transformation Eastland will see in the coming years.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that we continue to meet our compliance obligations in relation to asset management planning and execution. You will be responsible for the engineering team, so the ability to manage a small team, focus on tasks, and ensure priorities can be set and achieved is important. Having a sound practical background will be a strong advantage for this role.

We are after a leader in asset management planning and implementation to continue to take our current strategy to a higher level.

**More about you**

You'll have:

- 10+ years' experience in design, construction, maintenance and management within an electricity lines business.
- University degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years managing an engineering team.
- Good knowledge of Excel and data analysis.

Eastland Network is the electricity lines company for Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast. We're responsible for keeping the lights on and have a focus on sustainability - this includes installing a regionwide network of electric vehicle chargers, and looking at new energy opportunities.
