Hauora a Toi - Bay of Plenty have a Casual position available for a suitably experienced and passionate Health Care Assistant / Maternity Care Assistant to work with our extremely remarkable Maternity Team based in our Maternity Ward, at Tauranga hospital.

The role of a Health Care Assistant / Maternity Care Assistant are supportive roles to the midwifery team and can perform tasks relating to the care of pregnant māmā, new mothers, babies and their families under the direction and delegation of a Registered Midwife. We have a strong team culture where we offer and support education opportunities.

The role available is for casual hours, working ‘as and when required' to cover days with high demand.

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Midwifery programme (Maternity Care Assistant)
- A Level 4 Certificate in Health Care Assistant (or other relevant qualification)
- Know how to work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Midwife, understanding this may be direct or indirect supervision
- Competent in using computers
