Our Chemistry Laboratory, based in Christchurch, has a Fixed Term position available for a Laboratory Technician to join the team in our brand new laboratory.

**This position is 36 per week, working Tuesdays - Friday from 9:00am
- 6:30pm, and for a fixed term period of one year to cover maternity leave.**

**Key focus of the role**
- Conducting lab operational duties to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients
- Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
- Working closely with the extended team within the branch

**Experience and Skills**
- May have a tertiary qualification in science or relevant discipline
- May have practical and theoretical chemistry and/or microbiology knowledge
- Good attitude to learn and develop, is reliable, punctual, conscientious and able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills
- Good attention to detail and excellent computer skills
- Previous experience working in a commercial laboratory or high throughput environment such as hospitality is advantageous
