Health is a 24/7 business and Canterbury Health
Laboratories (CHL) is no exception We're on the lookout for a Medical
Laboratory Technician to join our Core Biochemistry Laboratory.

The Medical Laboratory Technician is an important member of our CHL team. We
provide 24/7 service to the hospital and the community which includes high
volume automation, as well as some manual testing. Our primary focus is
to provide the best service possible for the care of the patient. This is a
great time to join us as we go through an exciting time of change upgrading and
updating our equipment and automation in the lab, including six new analysers
This is a permanent part-time opportunity for a
passionate and enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Technician to join us This role will see you
working evening shifts (16:00 ' 00-00) on a rotating basis of three shifts on,
six shifts off.

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Separating and processing samples effectively and efficiently;
- The operation of laboratory analysers and stat instruments, and

upskilling in these areas as required;
- Adhering to and maintaining laboratory quality assurance
procedures;
- Demonstrating a commitment to providing a high-quality service to

**our clients.Your skills will include**:

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as

part of a team;
- Adaptability to learn and utilise new technology and equipment;
- Registration with the New Zealand Medical Science Council as a
Medical Laboratory Technician (or eligibility to obtain) is essential;
- Experience in Biochemistry laboratory procedures would be
