The Forensic Mental Health
Service is dedicated to assessing and treating
people with mental health issues who have engaged in serious
violence or may be at risk of doing so.
It also caters for prisoners that require inpatient treatment. The
service has 2 medium secure inpatient units, an open unit and a community team..
We are looking for Clinical
Psychologists
within the service, including in Te Whare Hohou Roko(TWHR) a medium secure 9
bedded 24 hour inpatient and the Forensic
Community Team a community based service with three main areas of
focus which are courts, prisons and community case management. Hours of work
are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30.

We are looking for full or part time hours in these

As a Forensic Psychologist within our service you

**will have several key roles**: We are offering you the fantastic
opportunity to become a key member of a multidisciplinary team where your
clinical skills will be used to drive comprehensive risk assessments,
diagnostic formulation and critically provide individual and group treatment to
a complex, yet interesting group of adult patients. In addition to this, the
other key roles are the provision of both expert testimony and comprehensive
reports for the courts, addressing matters related to fitness to stand trial,
the issue of insanity, and sentencing recommendations.
Your professionalism, commitment to quality patient
care, excellent communication and time management will see you work effectively
as part of the wider team, which includes four other clinical psychologists
that work for the service.
You will need to be a NZ registered Clinical
Psychologist. Ideally, you will have recent experience in a Forensic Mental Health
setting and clear skills in risk assessment and formulation. We will consider
