Courier Driver

Our company is offering courier delivery throughout Hawkes Bay region. We have full time opportunities for courier drivers. The position requires an energetic person who is able to start work early morning at 5am latest. You will be required to work between Monday-Friday for minimum 30 hours to maximum 50 hours which includes few hours on Saturdays.

Our drivers are required to work sometime for long hours and finish their shift when all deliveries have been made. Must be flexible regarding hours on weekdays. We are a friendly team of dedicated people to provide outstanding services and products to society.

**Role responsibilities and requirements will be**:

- Ability to operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Always wear proper uniform while on duty.
- Driving within speed limit and wear seat belt while driving.
- Collecting delivery instructions from appropriate sources and verifying instructions and routes.
- Responsible for uplifting the couriers from Depot and Deliver to prospective customers in a safe manner.
- Keeping all paperwork up to date e.g., Logbooks and timesheets.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.
- Checking oil and water.
- Checking the tires.
- Service intervals.
- Informing the management about RUC and REGO labels.
- Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
- No smoking while driving.
- Maintain a current clean Driver License while driving company vehicle.
- Under the health & safety in employment act 1992, you are obliged to take all practical steps to ensure you won safety at work and the safety of all the other persons at the workplace.

**The applicant should have**:

- To be successful you must have at least 1 year of experience in a driving role.
- Valid and clean Driver License Class 1 with Dangerous Goods endorsement.
- Manual gear box knowledge.
- Must be physical fit.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to handle hazard conditions.
- A sound understanding of Health and Safety along with the logbook requirements.
- You should carry out routine checks of your truck.
- You may require driving on weekends.
