- Be the company's specialist for all things technical

**Who will you be working for?**

This well-regarded privately-owned business is the brand-owner or distributor of many trusted brands within the food and health & beauty categories. The business has been built on its values of honesty and respect, collaborative spirit with the customer at the centre of what they do. In recent years they have expanded their portfolio through the acquisition of several new grocery and OTC brands that are either imported or produced locally. With the incumbent soon to retire after many years of excellent service you’ll have big shoes to fill. Here is an exciting role offering considerable variety and complexity, autonomy and job stability.

**What will you be doing?**

Reporting to the General Manager and based at their Central Auckland Head Office (with parking provided), you will be the company’s Technical Specialist, with offering support and guidance to the business on ‘everything technical’. This will include:

- **Technical Support**: ensure Food Safety programme, labelling and artwork meet current legislation; ensure all OTC and beauty products are compliant with Medsafe and Medicine Regulations, Cosmetics Standards and Dietary Supplements Regulations; ensure advertisements meet the advertising code; conduct supplier, contractor and warehouse audits; coordinate any Product Recalls; and investigate customer complaints and NCRs.
- **Contract Manufacturing Support**: ensuring all quality and food safety requirements are met; assessing new contract suppliers and undertake on-boarding; sensory evaluation; documentation and reporting.
- **Product Development Support**: work with Sales, Business Development and Marketing to develop and launch new products and line extensions. Manage formal NPD process to ensure projects are completed in accordance with product briefs and within the required timeframes.
- **GS1 Compliance**: ensure product is GS1 compliant and regularly updated.

**Who are we looking for?**

Your toolbox of skills and experiences will be many and varied:

- You have a well-established career as a Quality and Compliance Professional that is backed by suitable tertiary qualifications.
- Your background is from either manufacturing or importation / distribution of food, pharmaceuticals or nutraceutical products.
- You have a proven track record in developing, implementing and improving systems and are au fait with current MPI and NZFSA importing and exporting regulations.
- You have well-developed problem solving, organisational and planning skills, and great attention to detail.
- You remain calm under pressure, and have the maturity to confidently deal with ambiguity and make judgment calls within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- You have strong interpersonal and service delivery skills; you’re able to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and can communicate technical information in an understandable and engaging way.
- You are proactive and self-motivated; can-do individual who can offer solutions to issues, and the personality to inspire cooperation and trust.
