**About the organisation**:
Our client is a global MSP with their reach across the UK, US and soon to be NZ They are a highly responsive and proactive MSP with a strong focus on delivering premium services to senior clients who rely on top-tier IT expertise. With a growing team of 24 professionals, mostly based in the UK, we are excited to help them expand their presence and establish the first team in New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity to be the first hire in the NZ market and play a pivotal role in the organisation.
**About the role**:
As a Service Desk Engineer, you will be responsible for managing tickets, monitoring systems, and efficiently resolving any technical issues that arise. Your primary tasks will include lodging issues, contacting suppliers for faults, and ensuring problems are promptly resolved. This role will be fully remote, and a 12 month contract initially. You can be based anywhere in NZ however they have the longer term view to have an established office in Auckland so travel and a presence here will be required at some point. Initially, the workload will be quite light, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who are studying or have side hustles, with the potential for significant growth as the team expands in NZ.
**Responsibilities**:
- Communicate effectively with senior executives and build strong rapport with clients
- Work independently and demonstrate a self-starting attitude while maintaining exceptional standards
- Provide high level desk support, including Windows and Apple systems
- Monitor systems, identify issues, and take proactive measures to address them promptly
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical faults and ensure a seamless service experience
**Requirements**:
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively understand and articulate technical concepts
- Previous experience in a service or help desk role
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently
The key to success in this role will be somebody that is a real people person with strong interpersonal and communication skills and can be a self starter. If you feel like you may not have the depth of technical knowledge (at least some experience is required as you will be working mostly unmanaged to begin with) but have bucket loads of enthusiasm and drive then we encourage you still to apply.
