**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**
Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education and Te Kura Ārahi Ako | School of Educational Studies and Leadership (EDSL) values align with those of the University; whanaungatanga, tiakitanga and manaakitanga and underpin our culture and our orientation to teaching and research. The successful applicant will contribute to interdisciplinary, research-informed teaching and diverse research agendas that engage with contemporary education theory, policy and practice. Postgraduate teaching in the Masters of Education, Educational Leadership endorsement is the priority for this role. However, the successful applicant will also teach into the School's undergraduate awards and contribute to doctoral programmes and supervision. We encourage applicants with a scholarly focus in Educational Leadership that is grounded in one or more of the following: Māori Education; Pacific Education; Indigenous education; equity-focused/social justice education; inclusive education; or critical studies in education.
**Mōu | Who You Are**
Applicants are required to have a doctoral degree in Education or other relevant discipline.
The successful applicant will have:
- relevant and successful tertiary teaching experience related to the development of future leaders from the education sectors (early childhood, primary, secondary), youth and community organisations or tertiary/higher education;
- theoretical understanding of leadership theories to improve learning and equity across a variety of settings e.g. in the education sectors, youth and community organisations or in tertiary/higher education;
- ability to develop and lead undergraduate and postgraduate courses in educational leadership across education, youth and community settings or in tertiary teaching/higher education;
- a research programme, publication history and plans for future research in an area relevant to the areas of scholarship related to educational leadership, youth and community leadership or tertiary/higher education consistent with appointment at Senior Lecturer Above the Bar/Associate Professor/Professor rank;
- demonstrable knowledge, expertise, and commitment to biculturalism to advance UC's commitment to equity, particularly for Māori and Pasifika students. Ability in te reo Māori me āna tikanga would be an advantage as will a demonstrated commitment to community
- commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to Aotearoa and the discipline;
- the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with, and beyond, the EDSL team and Faculty of Education, and;
- successful experience in thesis supervision at masters and doctoral level or demonstrated capacity to supervise research students effectively in educational leadership topics in all sectors.
