**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

In this role you will be supporting our tāngata (the people we support) in long term residential accommodation. Our tāngata are usually over the age of 16, have an intellectual disability and are unable to be supported in their own home.

They lead busy, active lives which may include attending day services classes, formal functions, gym classes, swimming and visiting whanau. You will be joining a fun, supportive and professional team who make a significant impact on the quality of life for our tāngata.

We work to a rotating 24/07 roster which includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights and sleepover shifts.

Ideally we are seeking applicants who can work between 32 and 80 hours a fortnight.

The anticipated start date for this intake is October 31st however there is flexibility if you need to start earlier/later please just let us know.

We will train you and you will start to achieve your Level 2 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing as part of your Induction. With on the job training and our ongoing support you will achieve Level 3 and Level 4, which increases your rate of pay.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

You may not have previous experience but you enjoy supporting those around you in your own life, you are the ‘go to’ support person and you are naturally drawn to helping others.

You may have significant life experience which includes caring for a loved one; you may be tired of manual labour and looking for something more fulfilling; you may be retired with time to spare or you may now be able to work around other whanau commitments. You may even be studying and just starting out in your career.

Your skills will include:

- Working with diversity

- Great communications skills
- The ability to set goals and work towards them

A reasonably good level of physical fitness and mobility is required as is a full NZ driver license.
