We're a not-for-profit organisation employing 1300 kaimahi and providing services across New Zealand. **He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role**

Our Tangāta Whai Ora and family| whānau service in Papatoetoe where we have been providing day programs, peer support, and whānau support to our community for over 15 years, is looking for a new member of the team

**_ You will have personal lived experience and are now ready to use your recovery journey to help support and inspire others_**

You will be passionate about supporting people to move forward with their recovery within a supportive, compassionate, relaxed, peer-led service.

This is a full-time position based in Papatoetoe, South Auckland (Monday to Friday).

**He kōrero mōu | About You**

You'll bring your own knowledge and experience of mental health and/or AOD challenges to the role. **_Please tell us about your journey in your cover letter, describing your personal experience and recovery journey, and what you currently do to enhance your recovery lifestyle_**

Sometimes faced with challenging behavior you'll utilize your calmness to engage and empathize and will be quick to think on your feet about how to deal with situations in a safe and supportive way.

You will also need to be flexible and happy to pick up "hands-on" duties and have the willingness to learn on the job.

You'll be culturally respectful, and non-judgemental as well as have a strong understanding of Māori and Pasifika cultures.

We would love to hear from you if you also bring along the following:

- Level 4 mental health certificate or level 4 health and wellbeing qualification (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this
- The ability to demonstrate assertiveness, accountability, and compassion for people and encourage them to change
- Good computer skills
- A full New Zealand Driver's License
