He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are on the hunt for an experienced Sleep Physiologist and/or Respiratory Physiologist to be based at the Tauranga Hospital on a 1.0 FTE permanent contact, working 80 hours per fortnight.
We are a small and passionate team with close, supportive working relationships with other health professionals. The person appointed will ideally have significant clinical experience and must be skilled in interacting with patients, in particular the outpatient context.
Continuing professional development is actively encouraged for all staff, it may be possible for the successful person to continue a programme of study for further qualifications especially to enhance professional knowledge and skills depending on the demands of routine service.
This role includes titration onto CPAP and follow-up of patients with long term CPAP needs.
It is essential that you have a demonstrated ability and interest in working with people and medical technology. Evidence of previous experience of delivering front-line patient care and highly specialist advice within another healthcare provider is required.
He Kōrero mōu - About You
- Have a current Annual Practicing Certificate with registered professional body
- Full registration in Sleep Physiology and/or Respiratory Physiology
- Has a Bachelor of Health Science and the ability to demonstrate specialist knowledge within the field of sleep medicine through practical experience
- Has a working knowledge of disorders of sleep and respiration is essential and an understanding of equipment used to monitor and treat patients with OSA is mandatory
- Experience in non-invasive ventilation is desirable but not essential
