**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Starship Children’s Health (Auckland), the leading provider of child health care in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and the South Pacific, has an exciting opportunity for a 12 months fixed term, full-time position for Fellow-Paediatric Haematology/Oncology in their Blood and Cancer Service, commencing from January 2025.

The Starship Blood and Cancer Centre serve a population of over 3 million. There are over 100 new malignant diagnoses a year and we provide a national service for allogeneic stem cell transplantation. In addition, we manage a wide variety of non-malignant haematological conditions including haemophilia and transfusion-dependent anaemias.

The successful applicant would work within a large multi-disciplinary team including 11 SMOs. Responsibilities include in and outpatient clinical work, supervision and teaching of junior staff. There will be protected time for a designated research project.

This job would be suitable for an advanced trainee in Paediatrics who may want to subspecialise in haematology or oncology but also for an individual who anticipates regional general paediatric practice with an interest in shared care for the haematology/oncology patients.
