**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Starship Children’s Health (Auckland), the leading provider of child health care in New Zealand and the South Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term full-time Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) Transitional Fellow to join the PICU team for 12 months commencing from January 2025

Starship's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is a busy 22 bedded functioning unit which:

- Covers all clinical specialities (except burns) and provides both cardiac and general ICU care and ECMO, CVVH, HFOV
- Responsible for flight retrieval for patients nationally and across the South Pacific Islands
- Is the centre of excellence for all PICU-based research

Located in Auckland, New Zealand we are the only paediatric intensive care unit in the country which provides an opportunity to gain extensive experience in our nationwide paediatric retrieval service. In this role, you will work closely with a highly skilled and dedicated team of paediatric intensivists, registrars, allied health and nursing staff managing a wide range of acute conditions with multidisciplinary input. You will have a high level of autonomy with supervised on-call work and will be actively involved in the supervision of registrars and other unit activities. Clinical research will be strongly encouraged.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

Other requirements for the role include:

- You should be either nearing the end of your CICM training or ideally, have recently completed a formal training programme
- Experience with acute pain management, cardiac intensive care, retrieval medicine
