We are looking for two experienced **Product Owners** to join our Banker Experience & Platforms tīma (team) and play a significant role in reimagining our colleague experience to brilliantly serve our ngā kiritaki. We sat down some of our Platform Managers, and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role).

**What is the tīma culture and environment like?**

We're a vibrant mix of talented folks from all walks of life, coming together to innovate and collaborate in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We are proud of our relentless focus on delivering the best banker experience so our bankers can delight our ngā kiritaki.

You'll play a key role in supporting our colleagues and ngā kiritaki, alongside third-party technical teams with Product Owner tasks, leading a software engineering tīma to build and run services and products.

The first Product Owner tūranga is in Lending Origination. We are creating a single place where bankers can meet kiritaki (customer) needs end to end, which includes reimagining the lending origination experience from the ground up. You'll be leading a tīma in the migration to a new platform that supports this new experience. You'll be working closely with other Tech teams to integrate this solution with other key strategic programmes underway at BNZ.

The second tūranga is in Conversational Banking. We're redefining how our ngā kiritaki do their banking through our conversational channels. You'll be leading a tīma tasked with building out BNZ's async chat and chatbot capability on Amazon Connect. You'll be responsible for integrating the kiritaki and colleague experience across key strategic platforms, and identifying opportunities to improve the conversational banking experience.

**What is your management style?**

I see myself as a coach and a collaborator. I'm looking for Product Owners who are self-motivated with a growth mindset, who have a relentless drive to deliver the best experience for our colleagues. I am there to explain our goals, remove impediments, and encourage them along this path. I am always there to bounce ideas off, provide timely feedback and ensure you are empowered to do the best you can.

**What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?**

In my time at BNZ, this is the most ambitious strategic programme we have undertaken to improve our banker experience, so they are best equipped to do the best for our ngā kiritaki. With this backing, we have an opportunity to really shift the experience, giving our bankers modern, resilient and user friendly platforms alongside the simplification of products and business process to make it much easier to serve our ngā kiritaki brilliantly.

**What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?**

The combination of multiple technology platforms that our bankers use and the complexity of certain banking products and processes e.g. lending, it takes a real determination to understand how we shift from current state to this brave new world. However, this means there is so much opportunity to make a real difference and we are looking for people who have a real desire to embrace this.

**What specific skills** **would be beneficial?**
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the product's technology stack, enabling effective communication on technical requirements and constraints.
- Product Management: Ability to define product vision, develop roadmaps, and prioritize features based on user feedback, and data analytics.
- Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies to efficiently manage sprints, prioritize tasks, and navigate the development process.
- Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership to motivate the tīma, with clear communication skills for articulating product goals and facilitating collaboration.
- Stakeholder Management: Skills in managing and aligning diverse stakeholder expectations, including excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Seamlessly delivering projects with third-party teams.
- Boosting user satisfaction and engagement.
- Innovating and enhancing our processes and offerings.
