Ngā kawenga | About the role
The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) provides the strategy execution function to the Department, enabling us to realise our objectives under the Hōkai Rangi strategy.
As an EPMO Performance Analyst you will provide support to the Investment and Benefits Lead for the delivery of a range of EPMO performance-related activities. This includes the analysis and preparation of performance documentation and reporting, providing advice to support the development of investment papers, delivering advice and administration of the finance aspects of the P3 tool, and assisting with other EPMO activities as required.
**Key accountability areas include**:
- Delivering accurate information and data analysis for reporting, including dashboard development and production, and tabulating key investment performance statistics;
- Producing reports and dashboards that are complete, accurate, timely and meet the needs of the EMPO team, including ad hoc information requests;
- Acting as P3 Tool super user and administrator in relation to finance data, including ensuring all EMPO systems and processes are designed to accurately capture and reconcile data at source;
- Supporting the development of investment documentation through effective pipeline management, tailoring sessions (including hosting and writing reports as required), and document review
- Developing, maintaining, and documenting EPMO processes and guidelines to ensure data integrity is upheld
- Working on EPMO process improvements and proactively identify opportunities for business improvements and progress these to a point of decision
- Assist EPMO Director and wider EMPO team to deliver business critical activities as required;

Your existing knowledge of Treasury Better Business Cases and investment frameworks would be an advantage but not essential, as would some background knowledge or experience of project, programme and portfolio management.

**To be successful in this position you will need**:
- Sound experience in extracting and validating data from various sources and preparing data for analysis.
- Experience with basic financial information and analysis
- Familiarity with using digital tools and systems to monitor performance and report information
- Reasonable understanding of process mapping.
- Experience with using the Microsoft Office suite of products essential.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent attention to detail and self-organisation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing capability, including adapting communications to a target audience.
- Effective relationship management skills
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $96,658 and the full range (85%-120%) is $82,160 - $115,990. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
