Ngā Kete Wānanga o Ōtautahi Christchurch City Libraries is a network providing access to creativity, ideas and information. We create opportunities for our community to explore and have fun with everything from old stories to new technologies through a vast range of materials and public programmes. Te Kete Wānanga o Karoro New Brighton Library is a beachside location that attracts tourists and locals alike. We are committed to giving an outstanding and bicultural service to the whole community.

A librarian at New Brighton:

- develops, promotes and delivers programmes like Wā Kōrero Storytimes and Minecraft
- demonstrates kaitiakitanga in their work with our collections
- assists customers and colleagues in the use of equipment (e.g. PC, direct to garment printer, cameo cutter etc.)
- shows manaakitanga to our community
- provides training and support to colleagues
- delivers the same services at Parklands Library

- Hours of work_ - Full time, Tuesday to Saturday
- Salary_ - $54,529 to $64,754
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Te Kete Wānanga o Karoro (New Brighton Library)

Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
