Are you an experienced midwife in search of a new challenge with regular hours? The maternity service of Te Matau a Māui - Hawkes Bay comprises of a busy secondary unit and an alongside primary birthing unit located in Hastings, as well as a remote rural primary birthing unit in Wairoa, Northern Hawkes Bay. The maternity team is committed to delivering excellent care that upholds Te Tiriti O Waitangi and, as our commitment to Hau te Kura, provides the best health outcomes for our community.

We are looking for a dynamic midwife to join our team of multi-disciplinary professionals who provide excellent outpatient care to women and whānau accessing our Antenatal Clinic and Day Assessment Unit.

As part of this role you will provide midwifery assessment, continuity, education and advocacy to women and whānau referred to secondary maternity services in Hawkes Bay.
This role has a strong focus on addressing health inequities as well as ensuring a positive experience for women and whānau. Having an emphasis on secondary care, the successful applicant for this role is expected to have a sound knowledge of diabetes, complex care, immunisation, smoke free practice and social complexity.

You will be self-motivated, quality and equity focused and driven as well as enjoy working in a fast paced and changing environment. You will have a passion for making a difference, achieving results and be hungry for a challenge. You will be a New Zealand Registered Midwife, with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and continue to grow and develop professionally. This is a job share position where you would work up to 40 hours per fortnight (5 days per fortnight) as part of our midwifery team.
