You should also be able to keep track of big food wastes that customers leave behind.

**Job Duties**
- As a kitchen assistant, your job is to clean and sanitise all areas where food is prepared so that they meet cleanliness standards.
- Cleaning and putting away all dishes, cooking tools, knives, cutting boards, and other items.
- Help the Cook prepare the food for the meal by washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, veggies, meat, and poultry.
- Sweeping and mopping the floors and wiping down the walls of the kitchen.
- Helping unload food items that have been brought in.
- Organising and storing food items in the right way.
- As soon as the Cook tells you to, move meal ingredients from storage places to the kitchen.
- Mixing and heating soups, sauces, and hot drinks, as well as making hot drinks.

**Requirements**:

- Must be New Zealander
- Able to work on weekends
- Good understanding of the rules about food health and safety.
- Being able to stand for long amounts of time.
- The ability to work in a place where things move quickly.
- Being able to work with other people.
- Excellent ability to organise things and keep track of time.
- Effective ways to talk to people.
