Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
The Assistant Technical Advisor will provide ICT technical advice and guidance to the Te Mana Tūhono programme (the power of connectivity) and to other property related projects within the Ministry. A lot of this work is currently underway within our schools and needs to be progressed further and completed.

**Your key priorities will include**:

- to support the delivery of Te Mana Tūhono, which comprises of a network support extension, network hardware replacement and a helpdesk support service to New Zealand's schools.
- to contribute contract management, technical standards, ICT Network and Infrastructure, project governance and quality assurance activities.

Mōhou ake | About you
To be successful in the role, you will have a diverse range of skills and experience including:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/ or equivalent level of practical experience required
- Knowledge of technical ICT infrastructure systems, including structure cabling and active equipment design and deployment
- Demonstrated understanding of the inner workings of network switching and wireless equipment
- Demonstrated problem solving and solutions experience
- Confident numeracy skills
- The ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment
- Experience in the Education sector
- Advanced level of ability in using “out of the box” functionality of Excel (NB, macros and VB programming experience is not required)
- Intermediate level of ability in Word, MS Project and ideally MS Visio.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
